If You Need Some Name Ideas Fast and Are Not Concerned With Trademark or Domain, Go With This Naming Service:
Basic Service: We create for you - this is real people creating real names based on your naming brief 20 name concepts in about a day for $110. For the Basic List there is no guarantee of availability, that is we do not research the names in this package (but we won’t give you obvious names like Microsoft or Apple either). This is a good package if you just need some out of the box ideas fast to pull you out of a naming rut.
If You Need A .com Domain, Go With This Naming Service:
Corporate List: With the Corporate List you get between 8-12 name ideas, guaranteed .com domain availability for each name, cursory U.S. trademark check, and a creative tagline for each name. Cost is $300, turn around time is about three working days.
What if you don’t like the names we create?
With the Corporate List, if you’re not happy with the names, you give us some constructive feedback, e.g. too long, too hard to pronounce, too hip, etc., and we’ll work up some additional ideas for you. For three hundred bucks, we can’t go on forever with your project, but we’re reasonable people, and will work with you for a reasonable period of time.
On the Basic List, what you get is what you get - all we really guarantee is that the names are relevant to your naming brief. Look, this is a $110 dollar, down and dirty, creative grind to give you some new name ideas fast, its not a commitment to create a multi-gazillion dollar brand campaign.
How do you create names, how many people work on a project?
We sit around and brainstorm, write down ideas, go back to our offices and think some more, and come up with a bunch of lists, then we whittle the list down to include what we feel are the best names. Our brainstorming sessions usually include 3-4 people, we’ve found that to be the optimal size for creative endeavors such as naming. Too many people is not productive, and too few results in a narrow perspective.
Do you use your software to create names?
Occasionally we do start with Namebuilder, especially if we’re stuck, but we add the human element to capture the creative nuances that good names need. There are some categories where Namebuilder is simply not the best option, especially when naming food products, restaurants, or fashion related products or businesses, creating brand names in these categories requires subtleties not achievable by software.
How does the ordering process work?
Simple, you click the link for the package you want to order, either Basic or Corporate, you go to a secure online credit card form, enter in your billing information, and submit. Directly thereafter, you are redirected to our naming brief questionnaire which you fill out to the best of your ability, then you submit the form, and we get started.
Will you sign an NDA or secrecy agreement?
Yes. Simply fax over your NDA and we’ll sign it and fax it back. Regardless of the agreements, we never discuss any naming projects outside of the walls of our offices.
What are your backgrounds?
Most of our staff has experience at ad agencies or as product managers. Dan French, our creative director (who is usually who you talk to if you call), has over 15 years of product management experience, and has bought way too many products over the years – he knows all about what attracts people to businesses and brands.
